Registrations for North-East Championship have been announced - Finals to be held at DreamHack Mumbai

The much-awaited Northeast Esports Championship has been finally announced with 3 titles for the inaugural season - CS:GO, FIFA 19 and Mobile Legends.

 
Qualifiers
 

The format involves online as well as local offline qualifiers all culminating down to a grand finale at DreamHack Mumbai. The online qualifier will only be held for CS:GO. Apart from the online qualifier, there will be city-wise offline qualifiers with 6 cities that have been shortlisted at the moment. These qualifiers will be held for all 3 titles.

From the online qualifiers, the top 2 CS:GO teams will advance to the next phase of the competition. From the offline qualifiers, one winner from each game will move onto the next phase. The online qualifiers are restricted to players within the Northeast region.

The semi-final phase will be another LAN which will take place in Guwahati. Here, 8 CS:GO teams, 6 Mobile Legend teams and 6 FIFA 19 players will fight it out for the coveted top 2 positions. And finally, the finalists of the Northeast Championship for each of the 3 titles will face off at Dreamhack Mumbai for a shot at ultimate glory.

 
Prize pool and distribution
 
  • For CS:GO, the total prize pool is 3 lakh INR with the winner receiving 2 lakh and the runners-up receiving 1 lakh.
  • For Mobile Legends, the total prize pool is 1.5 lakh INR with the winner receiving 1 lakh and the runners-up receiving 50,000 INR.
  • For FIFA 19, the total prize pool is 50,000 INR with the winner receiving 25,000, the runners-up receiving 15,000 and the third place receiving 10,000.

The online qualifiers for CS:GO will commence on the 12th of November. Registrations will last till the 11th of November, 6 pm IST.

In an earlier announcement, it was revealed that the Northeast Championship would feature Dota 2, Clash Royale and FIFA 19 however, in the most recent announcement, the organizers seem to have changed their minds and gone for a different set of titles.
