With The Dreamleague: Season 11 Major at its midpoint, two more teams have been sent home from the Major.

Ninjas in Pyjamas and Chaos Esports Club were eliminated in today’s action, while Evil Geniuses and Virtus.Pro advanced to the next round of the play-off stage after putting up impressive showings earlier yesterday in Stockholm.

Ninjas in Pyjamas vs Evil Geniuses

Ninjas in Pyjamas and Evil Geniuses were the first teams to face off. NA’s strongest team vs a team lead by one of NA Dota’s most popular figures, PPD.

Game 1: Evil Geniuses dominated the series right from the get-go. NiP seemed to have lost the plot right from the drafting phase in Game 1. A baffling last-pick Timbersaw for Fata was just picked off, over and over again by Evil Geniuses as they snowballed to secure a whopping 33 kills in 33 minutes to secure a Game 1 victory with ease.

Game 2: The second game turned out to be even worse for NiP as they proceeded to lose all three lanes, despite drafting lane dominating heroes. EG secured 30 kills to NiP’s paltry 3, as they completely took control of the game and took down the throne in under 30 minutes.

With that win, Evil Geniuses have secured atleast 450 DPC points from this event, booking their place in TI9 joining Team Secret and Virtus.Pro in doing so. Next up, was Chaos Esports Club taking on Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Chaos Esports Club vs Virtus.Pro

Game 1: The South American team picked up a draft similar to the one they beat Team Liquid with a Razor, Ursa and Omniknight as their cores. This time, however, the three cores were backed up by a Witch Doctor and Enigma supporting duo. While Virtus.Pro did draw even in the early stages, they couldn't do anything, come mid-game, when Chaos Esports just started running at them.

They bled kill after kill, tower after tower and basically handed the game on a silver platter to the Brazillian team who took full advantage and secured the win in just over 22 minutes.

Game 2: Unfortunately, that was as far as Chaos EC got. Virtus.Pro struck back with a vengeance, using No[o]ne’s Morphling to put on a show against the South American team who picked up a Gyrocopter. VP secured a dominant victory push it to a deciding Game 3.

Game 3: Chaos Esports switched up their playstyle, opting to go for a much more late-game focused lineup. Unfortunately, Virtus.Pro with an ultra-farmed Spectre was just too much for Chaos to handle as they ended up conceding the game and the series after getting team wiped by VP.

Virtus.Pro will now move on to face Evil Geniuses in the next round of the lower bracket of DreamLeague Season 11 – which continues tomorrow.
