The Premier division of the JoinDota League Asia has seen a few weeks of play and the current points table is surprising to look at, to say the least. Apart from the premier division, Asia 2.1 and 2.2 also look to be pretty competitive with some decently big SEA names present in them.
In group A, Singaporean side, PG.Barracx has taken the lead with a win over the Indonesian side, EVOS Esports. They also tied a series with the infamous Highground stack and sit on top of the group with 3 wins and a loss. Both Signify and Tigers are yet to play out their matches.
Group B seems way more competitive at the moment with both Clutch Gamers and Veteran taking an early 3-1 lead. They both managed to beat Execration and drew their respective series with Malaysia’s Zeus. RRQ are the only team in the group who are yet to play.
In 2.1 Sterling Global Dragons have pulled out ahead with a win against Dota Hero and a tie with Alpha Red. Admiral are the big dogs in this group but are yet to play out any of their matches. 2.2 seems quite open with 4 of the 8 teams yet to open their account.
The JDL has always been an important part of the tier 2 scene in SEA/Asia and each season sees the upper leagues become more and more competitive. However, we are still in the early phases for this season and with a so many more matches coming up, it’ll be interesting to see which teams manage to stay on top and who ends up getting relegated.
